The River Project: Origins  • Movement • Confluence is a series of montaged documentary photographs taken at various river locations by artist Jeane McGrail.  For example, River Series: 27 shows the Mississippi River flowing from Minnesota Headwaters at Lake Itasca to St. Paul, Minnesota where the Minnesota River merges.  McGrail ponders, "As the river moves, the inquiry changes, unveiling the past and directing the future". She then asks, "Is my life captured in the place of origin?  Transported in the movement?  Transformed in the places of confluence?"   The River Project: Origins  • Movement • Confluence undulates in the convergence of McGrail's documentary photographs and strong graphic images.
